Over 130 people joined in the celebrations at the official launch party of the Celebration of Women Calendar 2012 on Saturday 3rd December 2011. The colonial surrounding of the Real Golf de Bendinat were the perfect back drop for a night of glamour and emotion as many of the models took to the stage alongside the calendars creator, photographer Samantha Hemsley.
The calendar team were thrilled that two of their major sponsors, Gabi Steiner and Dr Huw Jones, spoke of their support for the calendar during the evening. Special thanks was given to the other major sponsor Hermann Köppler of SGI Real Estate, Salon B for doing the hair & make up at all the calendar shoots, Auto-Clasico Mallorca for the use of their DeLorean sports car, Cathy Sasson for use of the Come Fly with Me stage set, Marie Tillbert for website design and Webbs Removals for delivery/storage of the calendars.
The evening was a great success thanks to event organiser Tor Cooper-Evans, Joanna Young, Music & More, Jennifer Jane, Eric Froese, all the companies who gave prizes for the silent auction and goody bags, and entertainers Edward Wade, Arron Reece and Tony Paris.
Money raised from the project will go to a new association called “In Celebration of Life” which will offer support to Cancer sufferers and their families in Mallorca including the organizations such as Cancer Support Group Mallorca, Dime and Project Micky.
